Community Involvement
Districts are required to provide information about assessment, academic achievement and related issues to parents in their native language or in their preferred mode of communication. The Blacklick Valley School District will make every effort to provide an orientation to parents as well as students that include basic school information, a description of the English as a Second Language (ESL) and bilingual education program, what content classes the student will attend, what special programs are available, homework and attendance policies, and district-wide assessment practices and procedures.
Program Planning
The program shall include bilingual-bicultural or English as a Second Language instruction. The program shall be based on sound research-based education theory, sufficient recourses and staffed by appropriate prepared personnel and have periodic program evaluation.
Community with English Language Learner (ELL) Parent or Guardian

Program Advisory Committee or existing committee, which includes ESL stakeholders
The District's Strategic Planning Committee will be the primary vehicle for overseeing and presenting ESL program approval to the Blacklick Valley School District.
Compliant Resolution Process
It is the policy of the Blacklick Valley School District not to discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, or disability in its admission procedures, educational program, activities, or employment practices. A parent, guardian, student, or an interested third party who may have a complaint concerning the English as a Second Language program provided by the district should describe the complaint in writing, with their name, home address, and phone number and deliver it to the Blacklick Valley School District Superintendent.
