• Blacklick Valley School District prides itself in being a small rural school district with a student body K-12 of approximately 650.  Because of its size, more academic attention can be given to each student.  The district is located in historic Nanty Glo, Pennsylvania, which was once the heart of the coal mining industry in the area.  The district is comprised of the surrounding towns of Vintondale, Twin Rocks, and Belsano.

The campuses are within close proximity to each other.  The average enrollment at the Elementary Center is 385 and the Jr./Sr. High is 265. The Elementary Center houses pre-kindergarten through sixth grades and grades seven through twelve at the Jr. Sr. High.
