Blacklick Valley School
District prides itself in being a small rural school district with a student
body K-12 of approximately 650. Because of its size, more academic
attention can be given to each student. The district is located in
historic Nanty Glo, Pennsylvania, which was once the heart of the coal mining
industry in the area. The district is comprised of the surrounding towns
of Vintondale, Twin Rocks, and Belsano.
The campuses are within
close proximity to each other. The average enrollment at the
Elementary Center is 385 and the Jr./Sr. High is 265. The Elementary Center
houses pre-kindergarten through sixth grades and grades seven through twelve at
the Jr. Sr. High.
