    Most of the apps listed here are free and can be downloaded from the Android Market.

    Memory Trainer

    A “Gold’s Gym for your memory muscles.” This app claims to help you improve your memory through regular mental exercise. The app specifically targets your spatial memory, which is responsible for recording information about your environment, such as when you navigate around a city.

    Capital Quiz

    Test your knowledge of countries of the world, as well as their capitals, flags, and currencies. Challenge your friends and online opponents in trivia games.

    Google Sky Map

    When you look up at the sky, does it feel like you’re looking at one of those Magic Eye pictures where if you stare at a spot long enough, a picture is supposed to come together? This app can help you identify what you’re looking at. Just point your phone at the sky, and this app will highlight the constellations, pulling a clear picture out of a jumble of stars. It will also identify planets and other celestial bodies. If you’re looking for something specific, you can also do a search.

    Formulas Lite

    This app gathers together some of the most important and often used formulas for math, physics and chemistry. It also includes a scientific calculator and basic translator. Don’t expect to be able to pass yourself off as a quantum physicist with the help of this app, but it might help get you through some intense study sessions.

    Molecules
    Molecules is an application for viewing three-dimensional renderings of molecules and manipulating them using your fingers. You can rotate the molecules by moving your finger across the display, zoom in or out by using two-finger pinch gestures, or pan the molecule by moving two fingers across the screen at once.

    Human Anatomy
    An ideal application for students, children and others who would like to learn the names of various body parts, organs and other terminologies related to the human body.

    VCell
    The Virtual Cell Animations app includes an animation, still images, narrative, and content quiz.

    Periodic Table
    This is a standard periodic table of the elements - a necessity for anyone interested in or even exposed chemistry. However, the version differs in that instead of cramming all the information for an element into one little square, you can select a chemical attribute and have the entire chart color coded to plainly show how the different elements vary with regard to the selected trait.

    A glossary of scientific terms and short biographies that support our science education website, http://www.visionlearning.com. All definitions link to related terms and to free, detailed science learning modules. Though geared for high school and undergraduate student's using our website, the glossary and modules are appropriate for anyone generally interested in science.
