I have been teaching at Blacklick Valley Jr-Sr High since 2008. I have taught a variety of science courses and Jr. High math, including pre-algebra, STEM and PSSA remediation courses. Currently, I am teaching four year-long classes: AP Chemistry, Chemistry 1, Applied Chemistry, and Science 8.

In addition to teaching, I am involved in extracurricular activities as an advisor to the quiz bowl. Since the 2018 school year, I have been chairing the science department.

One of my objectives is to get my students to understand how chemistry/science is intertwined in our lives, and why understanding chemistry/science is important to live in this dynamic and complex world.

Before I became a high school science teacher, I worked in higher education and academic research fields. I see critical thinking as an obvious application of a research method in real life. It is my objective that my students use critical thinking when they sort out the vast amount of information in our modern society.
