Hello! My name is Mrs. Farabaugh, the art teacher here at Blacklick Valley. I am very pleased and honored to be part of this school district and I look forward to continuously challenging your students in order to help them become better members of this school and the community. Nanty-Glo has always been an important place for me and I am so happy that I can be a Viking. In the art room, you can expect your students to create pieces that not only develop technical skills but encourage them to develop problem solving and critical thinking skills. Art is an excellent way to develop the entire person, not just a subject area. This is my greatest goal as a teacher.

There will be a lot of wonderful things happening in the art department this year. One of the biggest events will be the second annual Blacklick Valley Community Art Show. Any student, faculty member, or community member living within our school district is welcome to participate. If interested, please see the information provided below for further details.

All two dimensional artwork must be framed prior to the submission deadline, April 25th, 2022. All artwork must be turned into the high school before this date to be eligible to participate in the art show.

The artshow will take place on May 18th and 19th from 5-7:30pm.

The community memeber's artwork pickup will be scheduled individually with the art teacher. Please make sure to include contact information on your artwork so it can be returned promptly. Student artwork will be returned to them during school the following week.

Please see the following link for more details!

I look forward to seeing our community come together for this event and thank you for all of the support.
